Thank you for visiting our site.
La Clef d'Argent is a French non-profit small press specializing in fantastique, science fiction, weird fiction and fantasy.
Since 1987 we have been publishing French contemporary novelists and short-story writers (Jonas Lenn, Roland Fuentès), scholars (Cédric Monget, Lionel Dupuy), classic English-language writers in French translation (C.A. Smith, A.C. Clarke, G.S. Viereck) and forgotten authors from the late 19th and early 20th c. (Édouard Ganche, Théo Varlet, Gabriel de Lautrec). On this web site, we offer not only a catalog of books, but also a virtual library that can be freely accessed.
The name La Clef d'Argent is an explicit homage to the American writer H.P. Lovecraft (1890-1937), referring to the short-story «The Silver Key» he wrote in 1926.
There is no English version of this site, but it can be accessed through Google's translation engine. The result is sometimes unexpected but it will enable you to have a fairly good grasp of our various activities.
Besides, over the years La Clef d'Argent has kept a close relationship with many English-speaking scholars in the field (S.T. Joshi, Donald Sidney-Fryer, Ron Hilger). Consequently, La Clef d'Argent now publishes stories and essays in English under the imprint of Silver Key Press.
